Background to the whole thing.

Hi my name is Pete and I was born in 1947 (you can work out my age yourselves). In June 2006 I decided I'd worked for long enough so started to make plans for my retirement. The only problem I had was that I didn't really have any hobbies, work was my main interest and that was no longer around.

I didn't fancy staying at home on my own during the day, so I had to come up with an idea that would use up my spare time. All my family are keen caravaners and we would go away at weekends and holidays. I came up with the idea of putting every Caravan Club site and every town with a CL that had electric hook up into Microsoft Autoroute with my home town as the start and finish then got the computer to sort them out into a route.

That gave me somewhere in the region of around 850 destinations. Staying 4 nights at each destination meant that it would take over 9 years to complete if I did it none stop. As I only tour From Easter to late October with several stops between for family events it was going to be considerably longer.

Anyway I started in summer 2006 and so far with family bereavement's, births and the occasional trip on a friends narrowboat I've so far manage to cover 77 of the destinations.

For a recent birthday I was bought one of those devices that allow me to go online whilst travelling so it was suggested that I keep a record of my travels. So here we are.

I havn't yet got the equipment for posting photographs but that should follow shortly.

So if you enjoy touring please follow my travels and if I can I will pass on any information regarding sites that I have visited.

New to caravanning and found your site by luck but thoroughly enjoyed looking through. It is far far far more informative than any other sites on the Internet, thank you Regards Mark
